Meet Anderson—and the Museum His Curiosity Built

Founded in August 2024, Cambridge Natural History Museum is a growing, hands-on museum open by appointment and during hours announced on Facebook. Its collection includes fossils, rocks, minerals, artifacts, taxidermy specimens and more. Anderson Taylor founded and curates the museum and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest person to curate a museum (male).

Anderson has loved fossils and biology since he was a toddler. A family visit to the Staffin Dinosaur Museum in Scotland inspired him to open a museum of his own at age nine. With support from the Village of Cambridge and the wider community, one display case grew into an evolving museum collection.

Today the museum welcomes schools, daycares, families and visitors from near and far. The museum owns its building and is paying down the mortgage while raising funds for repairs, responsible collection care and new exhibits that can serve the community for generations.
